The same problem, in every shop, for a decade
CytoWorld didn't start in a lab. It started as Focus Media Inc. — a Greater Vancouver marketing agency that, since 2015, has helped 200+ local businesses get found and get booked.
Driving leads to those shops, we kept hitting the same wall. The marketing worked: the phone rang, the WeChat message arrived. But it rang at 8pm on a Sunday, mid-treatment, after close — and a voicemail nobody returns is just a customer who already booked somewhere else.
We saw it in dental offices and restaurants. We saw it worst of all in spas and clinics, where one missed call is one lost appointment, and a regular who can't reach you is a regular you quietly stop seeing.
In 2024 we stopped just pointing it out and started fixing it — building custom AI front desks for long-term clients. It worked well enough that in 2026 we spun the work into its own brand: CytoWorld AI Solutions.
Why we went deep on wellness
In a spa or a clinic, the front desk isn't admin — it's the business. The questions are specific: which treatment, which therapist, what's in the package, does it cover ICBC. The callers want a warm, patient answer, often in Chinese or Cantonese, often late at night while they're comparing you to three other places.
A generic chatbot can't do that. So we trained ours where the questions are hardest — spa, massage and RMT, medspa, TCM and postpartum care — and made it sound like someone who actually knows your menu. Master the hardest front desk first, and the rest is easy.
We stay open to any local business — dental, restaurants, cross-border shops have all run on it — but we'll always be honest with you about whether it's a fit.
